There are several different scheduling authorizations, which can be found on the Authorizations tab of the User Profile page (Admin >> User Mgmt >> User Profiles). There users can be authorized for all aircraft, specific aircraft, or specific groups of aircraft. Or, you can authorized for all aircraft with specific groups of aircraft excluded.
Dispatcher mode: Sysops and those with the authorization to 'Allow scheduling for other users' have the ability to use 'Dispatcher Mode'. This mode enables many of the advanced scheduling features, such as the ability to change, cancel, override or overlay other user's reservations. Dispatcher mode will identify user conflicts (where the new reservation would cause the user to have multiple bookings in that category for the same time slot) if the scheduled user is not authorized for overlapping schedules. However, it will allow the reservations to be made using the override/overlay options. To change to Dispatcher Mode, check the checkbox labeled 'Enable Dispatcher Mode' and then click 'Refresh Schedules.'
A resource sysop has sysop-like privileges that are specific to aircraft. They have the overlay/override reservations for the resources that are included in the resource sysop authorization. Since they are not able to get into Dispatcher Mode, these options are available in their normal scheduling mode.
Special scheduling authorizations that are not included with sysop privileges are listed below. If you want a user to have these privileges, they must specifically assigned.
- the ability to make repeating schedules
- the ability to make overlapping schedules (for resources in the same category)
