Answer:
A sysop can prevent scheduling of a resource in 3 ways...
- If a resource is no longer available, due to being sold or damaged, the resource can be removed from the resource list page.
- If the resource is down for a short period of time, and you want to indicate this on the schedule, you can add a maintenance schedule for the resource. (This can be done in combination with the next step of suspending it if this step is done first.)
- If you want to prevent scheduling of a resource for an undefined period of time, you can suspend it. To do this, go to 'Resource Info' menu and select the list of resources that has the resource you want to suspend. Click on the ID # link of the resource to open it. Find the 'suspend' check box and click it. Be sure to hit the "OK" button at the top of the page to save your changes. This Edit section for resources is where you can enter/change all kinds of information relative to it. Basically you can change/edit anything available to you here. Note: Suspending a resource does not give any visual indication on the schedule until someone tries to schedule the resource. For a visual indication, create a maintenance schedule before suspending it.
