3/9/23 This feature has been updated to allow for configurable expiration of checkout definable as number months that is specific to each aircraft. (See end of article.)
If you would like to enforce that users have checkouts before scheduling an aircraft or boat, you will need to do the following:
1. For each aircraft/boat, go to the edit page for that resource. Find the Checkout section as seen with a red outline in the image below. Check the check box labeled 'Requires checkout' and be sure to save by clicking OK. The check box is highlighted in the image below. If you want the checkout to expire, enter the number of months it is valid. Leave the number of months blank if checkouts do not expire.
2. For each user, go to the Pilot/Personal page of that user's account, and add any checkouts that they have completed. The checkouts can be recorded by individual aircraft w/ model, by model or by model group. See grid highlighted in red below.
3. This option can be turned on in the Group Options page (Admin >> System Admin >> Group Options) and is labeled 'Enforce checkouts by model'. If this feature is checked, a user without a valid checkout will not be able to schedule the associated resource.
The aircraft status page shows the checkout status of the signed in user. See 'Checkout date' listed below. The aircraft example below has a checkout that does not expire.
Enhancement from 3/9/23
If your checkouts need to be done on a periodic basis (i.e. expire), let us know how many months they are good, and we can enter this into the database for each aircraft. Eventually this will be available in a screen.
The aircraft in this image has an expiring checkout, which is why it lists the expiration date instead of the checkout date. As of today, this checkout is not yet expired.
