There are various links for adding a schedule alert:
- on the calendar view: when you click on someone else's schedule, it will default to a notification or schedule alert (assuming you are not a dispatcher with the ability to edit that schedule)
- right-clicking a schedule on the calendar view will show you this option
- from Schedule >> My Sched Notif . Click add for 'Pending Schedule Alert Notifications'
Opening the notification window from schedule screen, with a click or right-click, will result in dialog below. You can either select to be notified of schedule cancels or changes. Or, you can be notified of the entire time span becoming available. If selecting the time span, be sure to select the shortest time span you will be happy with since you would not be notified for anything short of the entire span being open.
Example: Suppose another pilot has the aircraft you desire schedule from 0900 to 1800 on a particular day. You wish to use it any time after 1400. If you leave the default settings (0900 to 1800) then you will be notified if the entire schedule is cancelled. However, if you set the start time to 1400, you will be notified in the case where the other pilot returns early and cancels the balance of the schedule.
Some clubs allow standby schedules to be made in the event that the original schedule is cancelled. See other articles for use of standby scheduling.
