Problem:
One of our users reported the following issue:
'I cannot log into schedule master from my laptop computers any longer. I have been doing it for years without any trouble unti a few weeks ago. However I can get in using my iPad and my iPhone. When I use either of my computers I get the login page ok and I enter my id and password, hit enter and it opens the scheduling page wit the club name and my name on the upper part of the screen and freezes there. The rest of the screen is blank. After about 5 to 10 seconds a box pops up from Windows internet explorer that says "internet explorer has stopped working", a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. At the bottom of the box is a close program button. That's as far as I can get. It just keeps doing the same thing over and over. This happens on both of my laptops now. They used to work ok. The laptops are running Windows 10 and I'm using internet explorer for my browser. What's the matter?'
Resolution:
This user did many things with Microsoft support. I am not sure which of these things were necessary to solve the problem, but here are the steps that were taken in this customer's words:
'Internet Explorer needed to have its browsing history and cookies deleted (I had done that previously but I had not chosen everything on the list) and then all IE options needed to be reset to factory install defaults. Press the windows key and the "R" key at the same time. Type in the run box "INETCPL.CPL" then under the General tab delete "browsing history". Under Content tab press "Clear SSL State". Under Advanced tab press "Reset" Internet Explorer Settings. Then restart Internet Explorer. This cleared up the login problem and all is OK now.'
